A magazine made in the dark.

Crude is a quarterly editorial magazine made in Alaska. We publish photography, long-form essays, and the occasional conversation with people who have refused, for one reason or another, to live a smaller life.

We started in a basement in Anchorage in 2021 with a borrowed scanner and a vague suspicion that the internet had forgotten how to look at things. Four issues later, we still believe the same three things: that pictures should be bigger, that sentences should be longer, and that quiet is a feature.
